About ~ Susan Hamlin ~ Saratoga Animal Communication

Susan was born with a natural kinship with animals. She practices gratitude for their inspiration and guidance.
A native of Buffalo, NY, Susan studied advanced Animal Communication with pioneer animal communicators Penelope Smith and mentoring with Dawn Hayman (co-founder of Spring Farm Cares in Clinton, NY, the largest animal sanctuary and animal communication center in the US)
Susan practiced mindfulness meditation with Thich Nhat Hanh (Buddhist representative to the Paris Peace Talks) and is a Reiki Master Teacher.
Family vacations in Ontario’s Georgian Bay deepened her connection to animals and the natural world. Seagulls called every night for her to feed them. Pre-Cambrian rock underfoot, guiding the sailboat by moonlight, the rhythm of the natural world; the unrestricted freedom and close connection with the animals of this tiny island opened the world forever.
One day Susan waded out in the water with her goldfish friend Hot Rod in his bowl. She told his story to the adults, that he wanted to swim in the "big water" and promised to come back to his bowl when he was through. And so he did.
Her work with animals is founded on a gratitude for wild places and the animals who live there. Her friendship with the water grew into a lifelong passion for the canoe; wilderness canoe trips in the US and Canada, flat water and white water canoe races. She is an Adirondack 46er, having hiked the 46 four thousand foot mountains of the Adirondacks.
After completing her BA in history in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania, where she began a music career, Susan moved to the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. After a practical career, she returned to the music and animals she loved.

A kind, gentle black Labrador Retriever named Luther was one of her greatest teachers. Almost 16 years at her side, including thousands of miles in the canoe, he surprised everyone when he walked again after a parazyzing stroke. Luther was a dog who inspired those around him to walk the hero's walk with him ... and believe that anything is possible.
Susan consults with animals of all species, bringing a passion for the human-animal bond, wild places and a lifelong spiritual practice to each session. She serves clients across the US and abroad from her home base near the Saratoga Race Course in upstate NY.
Susan supports the work of rescues and responsible retirement. She also presents original music education programs to schools and community groups across the Northeastern US.
Susan is a published author and is available to present workshops and public programs on the human animal connection ... the old ways of communication and kinship with all life.
